Job woes cont.

January 3rd, 2007 at 03:34 am

I have been wanting to get out of the childcare field for some time now. I have been a toddler teacher for around 13-14 years. It is time to move on.

The only problem is that I am childcare wired. I really don't h ave a clue about the corporate world.

I did look in the paper today and there was a position with the Library in the childrens department. The pay certianly was appealing.

I went by there are got an application.
Will turn it in by Thursday.

Am praying that God's will be done in all that is said and done.

My degree is in early childhood education and I taught for 10 years until our oldest was born and I wanted to stay home with him. I waitressed and bartended on the weekends for extra cash while dh looked after the kids. This year, our youngest started grade one. I got a new job working for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. I'm working in the schools and have teacher's hours and holidays. This has worked out well for us.

Good luck with the library job! I understand the childcare burnout...and how difficult it is to look for something 'outside the box'.

Good luck! Changing careers is hard, no matter what your old career was. And you know that most of the people in the corporate world are little kids anyway...and I don't mean that in a nice way. Big Grin
