YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This weekend I heard some noises coming from the front of the van. OH, great it's time for new brakes. Well the auto place just called and their estimate is about $1,200.

1. Front brakes and roaters
2. Front struts (one is leaking)
3. Alignment and wheel rotation
4. and two other things ( can't recall what they are now that I am typing this)

The owner is giving me several discounts, but wow this still hurts. OUCH!

Well I would rather be safe and have my babies is a save vehicle.

And what is that saying? "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" something like that.

Also so much for lowering the credit card this month.

I guess this all really is frustrating combined with the fact that I haven't found a job yet. How do you pay things off when you have no money coming in. I told my self I would be picky about where I work until the end of the month and then I need to take what I can find that will pay the bills.

OK enough of the pity party, I'll stop complaining now.

    Woah, that's crazy. When did you hear the brakes start screeching? Are the rotors really shot? I'd at least ask them to show it to you when they're replacing them. That's a lot of money they're asking for.

    Yikes! I just had my front brakes done on my van and it cost $450...I took the van in when I almost skidded through an intersection on a red light!

    Wow that sucks, but you're right better to get what needs to be fixed, fixed. BA's suggestion is a good one, also how about calling around with a list of what needs to be done, maybe someone can beat the price?

    I have been taking my car to this place since i moved here in 1999. They do excellent service and try really hard to find the best offers and bargains they can. They have never steared me wrong. I had tried some other places in town and got some really strange advice about what had been wrong with my car. I took it back to this place and they fixed it for 1/3 of what the other place wanted.

    So now I just go to them first for maintance issues, and don't worry about other places.
